BUSINESS UNIT ANALYST
Job Overview:
Directly support the Business Unit Controller, providing in depth analysis for the financial results of the Business Units. Individual will require detailed financial analysis, report creation, and value added analysis for the budget and financial performance of the Business Unit. Role includes working with India resources in creating deliverables for executive leadership. This person must be highly organized with a keen eye for detail, and be able to quickly respond to leadership ad hoc requests. In addition, this person will be posting financial transactions and working with other members of DTT Finance to create accurate billing statements to Member Firms. All documents must be processed according to Firm standards and policy within the appropriate time frame.
Key Relationships:
This position will have a high degree of interaction with DTT budget holders and other members of DTT Finance. Direct reporting will be to the Business Unit Controller and ultimately the Deputy CFO of Business Units and FIG. He or she will routinely be involved with internal and external customers.
Job Responsibilities:
* Detailed financial analysis including historical and forward looking analysis
* Creation of executive level reports for Business Unit Controller and Functional Leadership
* Quickly and accurately respond to ad hoc requests for financial analysis for both budget activities and member firm results
* Provide budget holders reporting and analysis of spending activities, budget variances and projections as needed
* Draft responses to budget projection requirements, balance sheet account analysis and other reporting requirements
* Provide detailed performance analysis of member firm results data provided by the FIG team
* Closely interact with Hyderabad based resources for report generation, accuracy, and management requirements
* Proactively investigate and mitigate issues with improper coding or documentation for accounts payable transactions and Member Firm billing statements. Coordinate with assigned AP / AR analyst and escalate issues to Business Unit Controllers as necessary.
* Ensure financial transactions are accurately posted on a timely basis, and are in accordance with all DTT Accounting Policies and Procedures
Education/Experience:
Requirements:
* 1-3 years relevant experience / Education: Bachelor’s degree preferred OR : 3-5 years of prior relevant experience with an Associates Degree
* Strong analytical skills with the ability to research and resolve difficult Financial issues problems.
* Ability to read, comprehend and explain (to internal and external customers) firm policies that relate to financial transactions and accounting.
* Superior follow-up skills to ensure that issues are resolved in a timely manner.
* Strong customer service skills including excellent use of internal client skills for daily interaction with firm leaders.
* Clear concise verbal and written communication. Must be able to communicate well with other Finance team members, all levels of management as well as outside vendors.
* Excellent organizational skills, ability to work autonomously, ability to influence others
* Integrity & confidentiality are critical
* Computer proficiency is required for accounting software – SAP preferred, office applications (Microsoft Excel & Word), and Outlook
