Software Programmer

We are currently looking to hire a SAS Programmer. In this role the Senior/Consultant Programmer will play a vital role in our client services group. He/she will utilize extensive knowledge of SAS to build complex reports and transport files for clients, implement credit scoring models and support data mining analysts in their job by providing tools to facilitate their jobs and make tasks repeatable.
Qualifications
* 10+ years of professional experience
* Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field or equivalent experience.
* Proficient with SAS in a UNIX and Mainframe environment.
* Proficiency in using the SAS data step to perform the following functions; Complex file manipulation; Data editing and cleansing; Basic statistical analysis; SAS macros and functions; Custom reporting; Output to non-SAS formats, e.g., Excel, Access, text files, etc.
* Ability to understand and code JCL. Experience in SPF/TSO
* Knowledge in SAS/SQL
* Ability to gather, document, and analyze requirements.
* Ability to develop and execute test cases.
* Excellent Analytical skills and strong code investigative skills i.e.., need short turn around times in problem solving.
* Good communication (both written and oral ).
* Self studious - Ability to gain knowledge from existing documentation and code.
* Willingness to take ownership of existing code, applications, processes.
* Works under general direction. Acts independently to determine methods and procedures on new assignments.
