Director of Business Analytics – 006368
Description
Experian Consumer Direct is seeking a strong Business Analytics leader to manage and deliver in-depth analysis of company financial, operating and web metrics to evaluate and influence numerous aspects of the company’s business performance. This department will develop financial models to evaluate and prioritize strategic and tactical initiatives and translate analytic insights into concrete business building initiatives. The director will be a pivotal “change agent” in the company and act as a key advisor to senior business decision makers. This is a hands-on analytical role in a fast-paced environment. This person will report to the Vice President, Finance in Irvine, California.
The successful candidate will perform the following functions:
* Extensive data analysis, evaluation of business initiatives and interpretation of results with detailed findings and implications presented to key stakeholders at all levels.
* Designs and produces ad-hoc analysis and reports on KPI’s and various financial, marketing and operational performance metrics.
* Develops measurement strategy by aligning metrics to overall business objectives .
* Providing insights to the organization on appropriate metrics, scorecards and dashboards to optimize performance.
* Creates/delivers formal presentations for senior team members and key stakeholders.
* Creates work plans to effectively concentrate large sets of data and complex questions into a few, highly refined analyses.
* Develops a strong partnership with Data Warehouse Reporting Team in performing complex data extractions, manipulations and validation to ensure accuracy and appropriateness of analytic models.
* Partners with internal resources to develop a high quality infrastructure of quantitative analysis tools and data.
* Manages staff of two (2) other Business Analytics professionals.
Qualifications
Applicants must meet the following requirements:
* Minimum of a Bachelor's Degree in a relevant discipline (Master's Degree preferred).
* 10+ years experience in business analytics, forecasting or business planning with emphasis on analytical modeling, quantitative reasoning and metrics reporting preferably from an internet environment.
* Demonstrated understanding and experience with relational data sets, data warehouses, data mining and data analysis techniques .
* Strong working knowledge of relational databases and advanced knowledge with Excel and Access; familiarity with software tools such as Cognos, Oracle/Hyperian Essbase, SAS and SPSS
* Strong background in financial analysis and financial modeling; statistical and marketing analysis background is a plus.
* Applicant must have had some experience managing a data analytics team.
* Excellent oral and written communication skills with the ability to effectively interact with all levels within the organization .
* Compelling communication and influencing skills in order to win the support of senior management and influence the course of major strategic decisions.
* Strategic thinker, flexible problem solver and team player with ability to multi-task several priorities simultaneously.
* Must be an individual with high integrity and strong work ethic.
