Job Description
We are seeking a candidate with proven experience in delivering Data warehousing and Business Intelligence applications. The candidate should be capable of providing technical leadership to the development team and managing projects efficiently. The candidate should be able to successfully engage the different IT constituencies and business users. The candidate should have participated in all phases of the project life cycle from requirements analysis, prototyping, technical design & development to implementation and maintenance of solutions. The ideal candidate should have lead more than two BI implementations in one or more areas of Revenue Analytics, Sales and Marketing Analytics, Customer Analytics using a major BI tool (Siebel Analytics/OBIEE experience preferred).
Duties/Responsibilities
• Provides technical thought leadership to the BI team
• Engages the business analysts for understanding and translating the requirements into technical design
• Owns the technology aspects of BI projects from conception to delivery, ensuring that best practices are followed
• Keeps track of latest BI Technologies. Evaluates, recommends and architects the BI platform. Provides guidance and leadership to the technical architects as needed.
• Understands and leads BI team on DW and analytics best practices to build a robust and high performance analytics environment.
• Translates high-level business requirements into functional design and logical business dimensional model
• Understands and works with business users to define key metrics, dimensions, hierarchies and attributes.
• Provides leadership in defining systems strategy, developing systems requirements, designing and prototyping, testing, training, defining support procedures, and implementing practical business solutions. Recommends changes in methods or procedures where necessary.
• Communicate status of projects with the team, peers, and IT management.
• Exhibits flexibility in handling multiple tasks in a dynamic IT environment.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
• BS/MS degree in Computer Science or equivalent
• 10+ years of overall IT experience and minimum 4 years of experience in a technical leadership position in a Data Warehousing/Business Intelligence environment
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
• Solid knowledge of BI/DW life-cycle with expertise in ETL, Dimensional Modeling and Reporting.
• Solid knowledge of business processes, industry trends, challenges and best practices
• At least 3 years experience working with a major BI tool (Siebel Analytics/OBIEE preferred) including but not limited to the following activities:
1. Design and customization of Siebel Answers, Reports, Dashboards, iBots, and Siebel Delivers
2. Design and development of all layers of Siebel Analytics, Physical, Business Model, and Presentation layer
3. Good knowledge on Analytics security features
4. Good knowledge of Analytics Performance options
5. Knowledge in ETL. Setting up Informatica and tuning the ETL processes
6. Strong knowledge of Oracle RDBMS concepts as relates to Data Warehousing
7. Architecting, Capacity planning and server sizing of the BI platform
• Broad Understanding of Corporate Performance Management - Score-carding / Planning & Budgeting. Knowledge & expertise in leading CPM tools like Hyperion Planning (desirable)
• Working with an onsite/offshore model desirable
