Responsibilities: Develop and implement comprehensive vendor marketing plans for strategic vendors or a significant number of vendors. Assist assigned vendors with the creation of product marketing strategies through Ingram Micro. Manage vendor/Ingram Micro marketing relationship, including maintaining product marketing plans, managing vendor coop/MDF and representing Ingram Micro in marketing related business meetings. Manage assigned product category and understand basic marketing trends, product positioning and market opportunities. Responsible for identifying, developing and implementing category marketing programs for assigned product category. Establish a leadership position within the Market Development organization by chairing a task force, managing a multi-vendor program or training other associates. Responsible for personnel management duties, including daily coaching, assisting with performance evaluations, and creation of Associate Development Plans. Act as a consultant for product management and assigned vendors by providing marketing direction pertaining to assigned manufacturers' marketing plans. Develop and maintain three-month rolling marketing plans that incorporate vendor objectives, strategies and tactics. Develop and implement marketing plans that incorporate all aspects of marketing, including print advertising, direct mail, electronic marketing, training programs, telemarketing and sales awareness. Maintain Ingram Micro marketing profitability goals. Provide programmatic marketing support by understanding vendor objectives and recommending an appropriate mix of Ingram Micro marketing programs. Execute vendor participation in these programs. Develop a comprehensive understanding of the creative and job flow processes of the Ingram Micro marketing department. Prepare monthly Promo/Spiff results and quarterly ROI reporting for designated manufacturers. Work with product manager to understand monthly sales data and trend information. Act as the focal point for project material coordination by interfacing with participating manufacturers, gathering necessary vendor materials and developing materials tracking tools for effective program management. Research competitor and industry programs through communication with Channel Development team, Customers, Sales, Product Management and by utilizing Ingram Micro market intelligence resources. Take a leadership role in defining Ingram Micro category strategies by understanding market trends and communicating trends and key vendor strategies during staff meetings. Monitor and drive revenue goals, expenses and profit margins for assigned vendors and programs. Demonstrate leadership ability on a task force or committee by coaching members on accomplishing tasks, developing research, and improving efficiencies. Present findings to the Senior Marketing Team. Manage multi-vendor programs from design to implementation. Work with task forces to assign action items, drive program issues to completion, and ensure programs are visible and well supported within the Market Development and Product Management organization. Work with Marketing Accounting to budget and track revenues and expenses associated with programs. If applicable; coach and direct the daily activities of an Associate Marketing Manager or Marketing Admin. Help establish measurable goals and provides consistent feedback and coaching. Foster a learning environment by coaching the associate on Ingram Micro's programs, policies and procedures and by assessing and suggesting appropriate training classes. Assist Senior manager in creating and delivering quarterly Associate Development Profiles as well as yearly Performance Evaluations.
Requirements:
Education: Bachelor's degree required or 2 years related external experience or 1 year related Ingram Micro experience.
Experience: Three to five years of product marketing experience, preferably in the high tech computer related environment. Experience developing and implementing channel marketing programs. A basic understanding of the distribution channel preferred. Supervisory experience very desirable. Knowledge of general computer applications (Microsoft Word and Microsoft Excel) as well as specific Ingram Micro systems (i.e. IMpulse). Ability to develop business, marketing and sales plans. Strong written, verbal, interpersonal, leadership, problem-solving and presentation skills. Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously. Ability to communicate with executive level associates internally and externally in an articulate and professional manner. Ability to practices discretion and understand appropriateness of communication and behavior. Ability to implement recommendations and see projects through to completion. Ability to work both independently and as a team member. Must be detail-oriented, organized and have strong time management skills. Possible travel.
