Senior Analyst - Capacity Planning – 033154

Amazon.com is looking for a Senior Capacity Analyst supporting the Global Infrastructure Team. The person in this role is responsible for developing and communicating capacity analytics for the Company’s global data center and network infrastructure, supporting Senior Business Management in the development and implementation of medium- and long-term capacity strategies, and close coordination with internal customers generating the demand for infrastructure capacity.
This position will be responsible for:
* Support effective decision-making through economic, financial and market analysis of critical issues, including capacity planning, price and cost modeling, and returns on investment.
* Coordinate the setting of corporate goals and ensure progress is accurately tracked.
* Support the capacity forecasting, budgeting and reporting efforts for operating expense, capital and resource allocation.
* Deliver on financial and infrastructure plans as agreed upon by management. Anticipate major changes early and ensure that plans keep up to date with business reality.
* Ensure delivery of actionable, accurate, and timely financial and business metrics.
* Design and coordinate the development of systems and tools to keep pace with the group’s growing and rapidly changing businesses.
* Driving cross-business analytic projects for senior management, with financial modeling, data mining and presentation support.
Qualifications
* Undergraduate degree in business, finance, engineering, or a related field. A graduate degree (MBA or equivalent) and 3+ years of capacity experience.
* Strong analytic skills and a demonstrated ability to build and manage financial models for business forecasting, variance analysis, and problem solving.
* Direct experience in operations or capacity planning a plus.
* Fluency in standard software including MS Excel. Knowledge of SQL is a strong plus.
* Strong communication skills – both written and verbal.
* Successful characteristics for the position are the ability to maintain a high level of attention to detail, the ability to work independently, adjust priorities, and work in a continuously changing environment.
