Job Description:
As Senior Quantitative/Statistical Analyst, you will play a key role in the design and analysis of business tests and statistical prediction to support our customer marketing programs. Areas of focus include statistical test-control design and analysis, customer/campaign level modeling and ad hoc business/promotional analysis. You will work closely with the circulation and campaign execution teams as well as other teams outside of marketing to drive test and learn initiatives and implement prediction tools, including but not limited to regression modeling. You will be responsible for adapting modeling to accommodate changing needs of the business and consumers in addition to continuously improving on past modeling approaches. You will also be integral in designing rigorous tests that incorporate multichannel data and financial metrics in an effort to evolve our market knowledge and maximize profitability of the business. Critical to your success will be the ability to interpret and/or resolve complex analytical problems and the ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing, with members of senior management as well as statisticians and programmers within the team.
Responsibilities/Skills/Experience Requirements Requirements:
Successful candidates will have a Masters or PhD degree in statistics, mathematics, economics, operations research or equivalent experience with demonstrated ability in the following areas:
- 8-10 years of advanced quantitative/statistical analysis or technical experience
-Advanced SAS (including SAS Base, Stat and Graph) and SQL programming experience
- Experience working with large and complex databases
- Consistently demonstrated analytical and problem-solving skills
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- High comfort level using MS office products, such as Excel and PowerPoint
Desired:
-Experience with advanced methods for analyzing data, such as stochastic modeling, optimization techniques, Bayesians methods and inference, data mining and knowledge systems and/or neural networks
-Experience with UNIX, IBM mainframe preferred.
-Experience in direct or retail marketing preferred.
