Position: Quantitative Star.
Department: Quantitative
Reporting To: Director, Quantitative
Consult to a broad range of in-sync clients providing (and being the keeper of) strategic and tactical guidance on branding, marketing and innovation initiatives based on fresh customer insights from customized quantitative research projects.
Major Responsbilities
Project Management
* For a wide range of clients and industries, overall responsibility for the successful completion of customized quantitative research projects.
* Securing a clear, thorough understanding of client’s business or brand issues and pending decisions that are the catalyst for the project.
* Custom designing of study in response to client brief.
* Overall responsibility for survey design, sample frame, methodology, modality, analysis plan and debrief.
* Direct and or support Senior Analyst in determining the analytics required to meet the client need.
* Direct Associate Strategist, Project Manager, and Project Co-ordinator to ensure day-to-day project management, field work and tabulation is conducted on time and on budget.
* Crafting of verbal presentation and written debrief that persuasively shares key insights with clients and register them with impact.
* Presentation of key insights and recommendations to key client members.
* Throughout the project (from absorbing client challenge to recommendations), demonstrates an overall ability to inspire clients with in-sync thinking.
Product Innovation
* Develop new approaches or techniques that elevate the level of insight unearthed in projects.
* Participate in and/or organize teams dedicated to advancing in-sync’s project based and corporate leadership, e.g. reframing client debrief presentations.
Collaboration
* Participate in and/or organize internal think tank sessions on project needs, e.g. designing a study, building a questionnaire, cracking a brand strategy, addressing a sensitive client situation.
* Elevate the thinking of others (for project and corporate needs) based on the combination of objectivity, creativity, transferable knowledge and experience.
* Assist where needed in other Strategists’ project management, e.g. covering while someone is on holidays.
Account Management
* Establish meaningful client relationships at a range of levels including senior management, i.e. Director of Marketing, Sr. /Executive V.P.’s.
* For existing clients, secure an in-depth understanding of their ongoing business challenges and needs such that “insight relevant” initiatives can be proactively identified.
* With prospective and existing clients, proactively identify service and/or product opportunities (beyond projects) that can entrench client relationships, i.e. infiltration strategies.
* Participate in and/or spearhead the pitching of new in-sync clients.
* Write and/or contribute ideas to new business and/or competitive project proposals.
* Be responsible for selling and managing a mutually agreed upon revenue target.
* Building the Quantitative Practice
* Be a key contributor to the growth of the quantitative group by collaborating with Strategists in other groups and ensuring the quant group retains the high quality levels expected at in-sync.
* Increase the skill and experience levels of those around you by helping to establish best practices and assuring industry standards are not only met but exceeded.
Education and Experience
* Completion of an undergraduate university degree (minimum) with preference for but not limited to the disciplines of marketing, business, economics, psychology, or statistics.
* A minimum of 8 years working in the market research community with a minimum of 5 years on the vendor side. Responsibilities must have encompassed taking overall responsibility for a wide range of quantitative projects particularly in brand equity, positioning, market estimation and sizing, segmentation and choice modeling. Experience should range from problem definition and proposal development through to presenting strategic solutions to senior management.
* While not a requirement, experience in pharmaceutical research is an advantage.
